Remastering My Mind…

November 2nd… one day and 5 years after Mac Dre died got my mind fried with too many thoughts so some denied… and now just back from watching Michael Jackson’s “This Is It”… reminds me these talents are not here to share with us any longer, 2Pac… always thoughts of our true leader… Bob Marley… Jimi Hendrix… James Brown… Isaac Hayes… Barry White… there are others… Bruce Lee… I could keep going but why… they are here with us… influencing us still and ’tis our duty to keep their legacy and accomplishments in the forefront of our thoughts… it is there where they shine the brightest and shall be illuminating always…

It makes me remaster my mind to think in perfection as some did incessantly… it is not how fast the product is brought to market, it is not how much money it makes for you, but it is about one thing and one thing only… getting it right… making a product you are proud of… that is honest, true to its maker and expresses the willingness to make something of reputation and adored utility… the true customer will be the one who is there for the product, not because you told them to… because they need it… but you didn’t make it for anybody but yourself… you presented it when appropriate and complete… it is a gift from you to them… but always given to yourself first… the day you follow others is the day you lose yourself…

MAY YOU ALL PLAY ON FOREVER!

MUSIC IS LIFE, LIFE IS MUSIC!

B-A-Double R-I-T-Z Pre-Release in The Cellar (7/12/2008)

The B-A-Double R-I-T-Z Pre Release was my second full show production, renting The Cellar again in downtown San Jose, California along with the wireless mics. Show CDs were also created for those in attendance. Performances started at midnight.

It was a bittersweet night as our show was dedicated to EMPera who tragically drowned almost one month prior on Father’s Day June 15, 2008.

I performed “Just Skip” with Deez Dinero with EMPera’s verse blaring through the loudspeakers, “Flossy” with Swizzle & Deez Dinero, “Livin’ To Die” with Attilary & Swoona with EMPera’s voice posthumously preaching, and “Watch Out There” with MysterE.

The vibe was amazing, the crowd was lively and the show was a success. In hindsight it was a moment of change for me, a great influence of mine was gone, his creative talents were no more, and a friend was lost. Rest In Peace Roy.

Barritz’ Burntday in The Cellar (10/13/2007)

Barritz’ Burntday was my first full show production both behind the scenes and on the mic… I rented The Cellar in downtown San Jose, California; along with a set of wireless mics… created shows CDs with the tracks performed that night and gave them to everyone in the building… ran the guest list, took a piece of the draw from the door and the bar tab and rocked the mic at midnight.

It was an intense performance with close friends, family and industry folks in attendance. I learned the importance of the sound check as I set up the wireless mics beforehand and did a live mic mix during the show for each artist as we moved around the floor. That night I also realized it was best to control the venue from open to close and make sure all the details were accounted for personally rather than rely on a promoter or club owner.

Swizzle, Deez Dinero & I performed “Flossy,” Attilary & I performed “U Kan’t Fuk Wit Me” and EMPera, Deez Dinero & I performed “Just Skip.”

On One @ Club Abyss (9/23/2006)

A hot Saturday autumn night in The Bay… the San Jose Ruff Ryders put together a beautiful venue at Club Abyss in Sunnyvale, California… Attilary, EMPera (R.I.P.), Swoona and myself rocked the stage with a thick entourage… it was my last time performing with 40-8 Productionz as Brainz Blown Recordz™ rose from the ashes.

Lixnite @ Emma’s (5/30/2006)

The first show I ever did… Attilary and I had just started 40-8 Productionz… we performed at Emma’s restaurant in downtown San Jose, California. It was a gorgeous Tuesday afternoon at the end of Memorial Day Weekend… $2 Coronas all afternoon on the patio leading up to the show… we drank buckets of them. The sun went down… and when we took the stage we took it… performing “Really Really” and “U Kan’t Fuk Wit Me.”
