“The Cadillac Man”

So “The Cadillac Man” album got wrapped a couple days ago… I met up with Rico in L.A. and we knocked out the final tasks on the list… I’m just on the listening tip now and making sure I am happy with the finished product… we have spent a lot of time working on it to get it right and it has been an experience I have learned a lot from… I’ve had many setbacks on the way to finishing this project and many times felt like I shouldn’t even put it out because I was so frustrated with the progress or lack thereof on the whole thing… I started making this album with Gyre and lost all of my tracks due to computer issues, then I had to get all of the raw tracked out instrumentals redone by him, was starting to collab with my good friend EMPera and his production, and then had him unfortunately taken from me and the rest of this world as he passed Father’s Day 2008 (Rest In Peace good friend 8/14/1981-6/15/2008, I don’t even wanna get into that right now) and then I networked with Rico at Apocalypze Recording Studios to bring this project to fruition even though he moved to Burbank slightly before finishing the project, so I had to wait until his availability up here in The Bay… he has been a mentor to me and has taught me a lot through this entire process… I wanted to say thank you to all who have had a hand in helping me with “The Cadillac Man“… EMPera, Rico, Skooob, Gyre, MysterE, ProHoeZak, DaMost, Deez DineroSoul Purpose Leone, Chino, Attilary, L-One, Swizzle, Caleo, Eratk, oneSHOTmedia – Mike Ho, and to all my family and friends who have supported me with the process and who have made it out to my shows… you are all priceless and too many to name… it is coming… “The Cadillac Man“… are you ready?!

B-A-Double R-I-T-Z Pre-Release in The Cellar (7/12/2008)

The B-A-Double R-I-T-Z Pre Release was my second full show production, renting The Cellar again in downtown San Jose, California along with the wireless mics. Show CDs were also created for those in attendance. Performances started at midnight.

It was a bittersweet night as our show was dedicated to EMPera who tragically drowned almost one month prior on Father’s Day June 15, 2008.

I performed “Just Skip” with Deez Dinero with EMPera’s verse blaring through the loudspeakers, “Flossy” with Swizzle & Deez Dinero, “Livin’ To Die” with Attilary & Swoona with EMPera’s voice posthumously preaching, and “Watch Out There” with MysterE.

The vibe was amazing, the crowd was lively and the show was a success. In hindsight it was a moment of change for me, a great influence of mine was gone, his creative talents were no more, and a friend was lost. Rest In Peace Roy.

Barritz’ Burntday in The Cellar (10/13/2007)

Barritz’ Burntday was my first full show production both behind the scenes and on the mic… I rented The Cellar in downtown San Jose, California; along with a set of wireless mics… created shows CDs with the tracks performed that night and gave them to everyone in the building… ran the guest list, took a piece of the draw from the door and the bar tab and rocked the mic at midnight.

It was an intense performance with close friends, family and industry folks in attendance. I learned the importance of the sound check as I set up the wireless mics beforehand and did a live mic mix during the show for each artist as we moved around the floor. That night I also realized it was best to control the venue from open to close and make sure all the details were accounted for personally rather than rely on a promoter or club owner.

Swizzle, Deez Dinero & I performed “Flossy,” Attilary & I performed “U Kan’t Fuk Wit Me” and EMPera, Deez Dinero & I performed “Just Skip.”
